What we collect
Privacy
Short version: we do not want your data, so we mostly do not collect it.
WhatsApp members
If you join a city community, your phone number lives inside WhatsApp. It stays there. We never export numbers, we never copy them into a spreadsheet, and we never send them to anyone else or to any AI service. Community admins can see numbers because WhatsApp shows them; we keep two or three admins per city and remove admin rights within a day when a volunteer leaves.
Nobody is ever added to a community by hand. You join through the link, and you can leave whenever you like.
This website
- No cookies. None at all, including analytics cookies.
- No IP addresses stored. None are written to our database or to any log we keep.
- No third-party trackers, no ad network, no embedded fonts or scripts from anyone else.
Counting clicks
We count how many people follow each link, because it is the only way to tell whether a city's list is useful. When you follow one, we store the link code, the channel it came from, the time, and an anonymous daily hash.
The hash is made from your IP address, your browser's user agent and a secret, plus today's date. It is then cut short. We cannot turn it back into your IP address, and because the date is part of it, today's hash cannot be matched with tomorrow's. It exists to give a rough count of separate people on one day, and nothing else.
Forms
Our forms are Google Forms. They collect an email address only when you choose to give one and tick the consent box, and we use it only for the thing you filled the form in for. Organisers' emails are used to talk about their own events. Volunteers' details are used to run the rota.
AI
We send only public event text to AI services, to pull out facts and draft wording. No member data, no email addresses and no phone numbers ever go into an AI prompt.
Your rights under the DPDP Act
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the rules made under it, you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and ask us to erase it.
To leave a community, leave the WhatsApp group; nothing of yours stays with us. To remove an email address you gave on a form, or to ask about anything else, write to hello@sixthirtyscenes.in with the word "removal" in the subject. We will do it within 7 days and write back to say it is done.
